Description

Join us on the last Sunday of July at the Pear Fair!   It's our 50th Pear Fair and we want you to celebrate the Bartlett Pear Harvest by running with us!  Choose either 5 or 10 miles on our beautiful country course. (Unfortunately, our course and our fair does not allow dogs. And, according to my children, it's way too bumpy for the stroller!)

Join us! And for the first time ever… Our finishers will get medals!!!

Sunday, July 28th 730am-1030am.

Kids 1/2 mile race at 745am! (They will get ribbons, not medals, sorry!)

And, don't forget to support our local scholarship funds by gobbling up the Pancake Breakfast after the race!  You will have earned it!  (Cost $10-15)

Start Line:  The run start line is located north of the parking area on Primasing Avenue in front of the Courtland Library.  From the parking area, walk past the baseball diamond and Children’s Area to Primasing Avenue.  **Keep an eye out for the signs and volunteers to guide you to registration and the start line from the parking lot. **

Race Start Times:  10 Mile Run:  7:30 am    5 Mile Run:    7:30 am      ½ Mile Kid Fun Run:  7:45 am

The course will be closed after 3 hours.

Course Map:  The course map will available at www.pearfair.org in June and will be posted at the registration/start line the morning of the run.

Honey Bee Alert:  The Pear Fair run takes you through the heart of Delta agricultural lands and with that comes honey bees that pollinate the crops.  Please be aware that there are bee hives near the vicinity of the run course.

Pancake Breakfast is 7:30 to 10 am:  Pear Fair volunteers are holding a pancake breakfast including pancakes, sausage, pear compote and for extra, you can add on a Pear-mosa!  It’s super delicious at just $10 (kids for $5)! Coffee and orange juice will also be available.  The breakfast is located near the race start line. Feel free to indulge after you run!

Pear Fair (including the race) is a *Dog Free* event:  We love dogs, but it’s just too hot for man’s best friend.  Please leave them at home on Pear Fair day.  *except registered service animals.

All proceeds go towards local high school athletic programs and scholarships.

The course is not particularly "stroller friendly"... It is mainly a dirt trail, but there are parts that are gravel, parts that are actively being farmed (be it an orchard, vineyard, or a field), and parts that are paved.  (A recent trial was given the review, "It's too bumpy for a BOB run, Mommy!" - age, 3)

Please click on the link below to view the course map.

After the run stay for the fun!!  For more information regarding the day’s events please go to www.pearfair.org
