Description
Join us for the final race in the Beer City Half Grand Slam, as athletes vie for the Golden Growler in this Championship event. August is also National Clear the Shelters Month and we're working with Pets in Need to support animal rescue and adoption. This means we will have our first Top Dog Dash with all the proceeds doing to this great cause. The air is thick with excitement!
You don't have to have been part of other Beer City races to have a great time, though. You also don't have to care for beer. This gathering is meant for everyone and it's made by runners, for runners. So come out for a great time with sunshine, running, beer, and celebrating
Your races run through Quarry Lakes Regional Park and then out onto the SF Bay Trail and Alameda Creek Trails. When you get home we will be there with tastes of beer from the Beer City Festival.
The Beer City SLAM includes a half marathon, 10k, and 5k distances. The Beer Stroll is a 1-mile walk for those who are mostly in it for the beer. The Top Dog Dash is a 1 mile-run/walk with your pup on leash. Everyone gets a Hound Hero cape! Proceeds for the Top Dog Dash go to Pets in Need.

Schwag & Awards
Each runner receives the special SLAM Key to Beer City, a comfy Beer City SLAM t-shirt, a 7oz Beer City tasting glass, custom bib , and free race photos.
Podium trophies are given to the top 3 in each race by gender. Age group awards are given 3-deep in 10-year divisions (example: 20-29). Age group winners are requested to identify themselves at the timing table.
All runners are entered into the Beer City Series results our Slammers receive a special lanyard that holds all the keys. Collect them all -- gotta run first!
Beer Tasting & Post-Race Refreshment
Beer City Half Beer City Half offers our runners over 21 years of age a beer selection from Lagunitas and Drakes. There will also be a non-alcoholic from our friends at Fieldwork. All this and the water, bubbly drinks, and snacks you'd expect after a run. As the brewers set up for the afternoon session at Beer City Festival, you can taste their brews, too. Want to include your friends? Buy a Buddy Pass at checkout and they can join you. Beer will be served in Beer City Festival tasting glasses for you to take home (without a beer in them still). Drink as much as you like. Runner beer tasting goes on until 12pm.
Starting at 11am, folks will start showing up for Beer City Festival with music and beer tasting which goes until 3pm. Want to stay until the end? Buy a Second Shift Pass for $25. It will take you from 12pm - 3pm. You are welcome to go clean up and come back.
