The Vanderpump Dog Foundation Virtual 5K

The Vanderpump Dog Foundation is so excited to host a VIRTUAL 5K in support of our rescues in need!

What exactly is a Virtual 5K?

Whether you want to run the whole 5K or take a leisurely stroll with your dog by your side, this event is for anyone! Help us rescue dogs while taking a walk around your neighborhood, jogging on a treadmill, or running some laps around an open track! The beauty of a virtual 5K is it can be completed anywhere, at any pace! You can even split the 5K up across multiple days. To track your run/walk, just create a profile at runsignup.com, sign into your account, and input your time. It's that easy! Every participant will receive a downloadable race day bib and finisher certificate. The first 100 registrants will also receive a special Virtual 5K t-shirt! Don't forget to send us photos and tag us on Instagram at @vanderpumpdogs and use the hashtag #VPDVirtual5K for a chance to be featured on our social media!

How will this help support rescue dogs in need at The Vanderpump Dog Foundation?

As you would in a normal 5K, we are asking every participant to set their own personal fundraising goal and ask their friends, colleges, neighbors, family and more for their support in reaching your goal! With your fundraising efforts and your donors' generosity, you can help The Vanderpump Dog Foundation rescue more dogs in need! Changing the life of one dog, from intake to adoption, costs an average of $500. Some of the rescues arrive at the Vanderpump Dogs Rescue Center in need of extensive medical care and life saving surgeries, which can cost up to $5,000! Donations and fundraising events are essential to The Vanderpump Dog Foundation and allow us to provide these dogs in need with the love and care they deserve until they can find forever homes! Whenever and wherever you participate in the #VPDVirtual5K, be sure to remember these COVID-19 Safety Tips:

No gathering before, during or after
No group walking/running unless with a member of your household
Practice social/physical distancing at all times, keeping at least 6 feet apart from others
Stay safe and race solo (or with your pup!)
