Update

Dear Runners,

We have heard from quite a few of you, and thanks to RunSignup, refunds will begin to go out next week and continue through the first week in November. If you would like a refund and have not contacted us, we ask that you fill out our form here by October 31 so final payments can be made.

We would like to thank the vast majority of you for your willingness to turn your registration fee into a tax-deductible donation to the Education Center and for your kind notes. We greatly appreciate your support and your understanding that this very difficult decision was based on keeping everyone-- the runners, volunteers, and our staff-- safe.

As mentioned in our first letter (part of John McCleary's September 16th email), we have missed our annual Run for the Cows during Covid. This has been an amazing event that we have looked forward to for each of the past eight years, and one that our staff and board members have poured their hearts into. We miss all of you. Along with your enthusiasm and positive energy, you brought so many inspirational stories to our pastures. We still hope to have more runs in our future and we look forward to welcoming you back to New Pond Farm Education Center.

Thank you again.

With warmest regards and thanks,

Ann Taylor, Executive Director

Description

The races begin and end at stunning Hoyt Campground in West Redding, Connecticut with a starting time of 8:00am for the half and 8:35am for the 7 miler. All races are on bucolic country roads that have runners passing a horse farm, a waterfall, a railroad bridge, wetlands, streams, lakes, an historic schoolhouse circa 1789, while finishing at the campground. The course can be categorized as challenging and rolling (with plenty of short hills but none that would be classified as long).  There are also plenty of downhills and areas of flat running, so runners should have no problem settling into a comfortable pace.

The Jumping Frog frenzy (Kids' Fun Run) of 3/4 of a mile is entirely on Hoyt Campground and will occur before the start of the other two races (at 7:30 am).

Runners of every race will receive a gorgeous, in-house designed, 4" finishers medal, an in-house designed performance shirt and numerous other special surprise race goodies. It is our goal to have The Mark Twain Redding Road Race be the friendliest and best supported race of its kind in this area, or any area, for that matter, while benefitting numerous Redding, CT charities
