12 Hour Adventure Race
Race Distance:
40-65 Miles (4 to 5 miles per hour average speed)

Description:
Teams of 1-4 will travel across land, water and swamp in Lee County covering approximately 40-65 miles. Racers will use pre-plotted GAIA GPS topo maps to navigate to check points while paddling, cycling and running/trekking through the course. Check points will be placed in various different locations using natural features as indicators of placement such as trail intersections, streams, bays, coves etc. The race will cover everything from single track Mountain Biking trails to dirt or gravel roads, a few paved roads and flat water kayaking.
Boats:
Boats will be included in your registration cost, you are permitted to bring you own boat to this race but must email and clear with the race director first. All PFDs (life jackets) and paddles are also included in your registration fee but you may bring your own. Apex Promoz will not be responsible for securing or transporting your paddle equipment or boat before during or after the race.
Boats will be available on a first come first serve basis. We will ask all three person teams to use a three person canoe.

Teams of 1-4 will travel across land, water and swamp in Lee County covering approximately 8-10 miles in three hours. Racers will use pre-plotted GAIA GPS topo maps to navigate to check points while paddling, biking and running/trekking through the course. Check points will be placed in various locations using natural features as indicators of placement such as trail intersections, streams, bays, coves etc. This race will feature check points that are meant to be easy to find with no prior land navigation experience needed. We will have very experienced adventure racers on site for any questions about the race, the race is intended to provide an introduction to what adventure racing is all about, this race is also a great opportunity for the adventurous parents to get their children involved. We expect to have children as young as 5 to 6 years old out for this race.
Boats:
