Healthcare Workers for Black Lives MOVEment Virtual 5K
Welcome to our VIRTUAL Healthcare Workers for Black Lives MOVEment 5K RACE. Run or walk, alone or with others to achieve your goal! Inside on a treadmill or outside, whatever you prefer! As long as you are moving for the cause - that is what counts! This event is hosted by Medical Students who are eager to get everyone moving while all working TOGETHER for an extremely important cause.
As we have all seen these past few weeks, everyone throughout the United States and WORLD is becoming more aware of the injustices and disparities Black individuals encounter on a daily basis. From healthcare, education, employment, and more, these disparities are now finally more transparent than ever. With this Virtual 5K, we are encouraging EVERYONE to come together to educate themselves and others of healthcare disparities, raise awareness, and to fundraise for the cause. All funds raised by this Virtual 5K will be directly donated, while encouraging everyone to get active and healthy!
Registration fee is $8, although all additional donations are greatly appreciated! Race-day bandanas + registration will be available for $16!
ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS:
BET + United Way COVID-19 Relief Fund
- The Fund will disburse grants to local community-based organizations, with a focus on families in need of food assistance and emergency support services.
