Description
St. Stephen Lutheran Church is hosting their Annual All Means All 5K Fun Run! This event was inspired to show the community that God’s grace is for everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, social or economic background. God’s love has no boundaries and through this event we hope to bring the community together in a fun, friendly way, while supporting and bringing awareness to deserving groups. This year, the All Means All 5K will be benefiting The Sharing Center for their Oasis Expansion Project. This is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization whose mission is to help the most vulnerable in our community receive compassionate care when struggling during tough times. They offer support and guidance to families and individuals experiencing hardships. In times of crisis, their team works to provide emergency financial assistance, groceries, and other essential resources while helping to bring hope and healing back into our neighbors’ lives. Their programs are designed to meet the immediate needs of families in crisis while sharing tools such as mental health counseling, legal advice, and budgeting skills. The Oasis was originally created in 2011 to address the needs of the growing homeless population in Seminole County. The location is currently situated in a 1,200 square foot unit within The Sharing Center’s plaza. The Sharing Center will be increasing the size of The Oasis by 2,400 square feet. The construction of the facility will begin in November. When complete in March, the new space will include a state-of-the-art multi-purpose training center, double the number of personal shower rooms, double the number of industrial washer and dryer sets, and additional space for case managers and partner offices. www.sharingcenter.org
This event will be held on November 13, 2021 at 8am. The fun 5K run/walk will take place from the parking lot at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Longwood onto the beautiful Seminole Wekiva Trail and back. The race will be professionally timed and there will be awards for the top 5 males and females overall. We will also be having a kids run for children 7 and under. We will have music, a DJ, bounce houses, and lots of fun! During the event, we invite everyone to a pancake breakfast served by the middle school and high school youth groups of St Stephen. The breakfast is included with your entry fee.
