Run for Reading 5k

Supporting the Imagination Library in Palm Beach County

Now in its 5th year, 100% of proceeds from the Run for Reading 5k support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Palm Beach County. The Imagination Library mails one book per month, completely free for families, to children from birth through the month of their fifth birthday. 

The Palm Beach County Imagination Library is the local program partner of the Imagination Library, and it has gifted more than 35,000 books to children in Palm Beach County.

The Run for Reading 5k is family-friendly, and welcomes walkers, runners, strollers, and dogs on leashes. Teams are encouraged, and costumes and themed outfits are also welcome. Chip timing by AccuChip.

Location and Packet Pickup

Location: Commons Park in Royal Palm Beach.

Virtual Race Option: Select the virtual race option, and run or walk anywhere, and receive a finisher's medal and swag bag. 

Packet Pickup: Early packet pickup is at Fit2Run at the Wellington Green Mall, Thursday, November 5 from 5-7pm. Same day registration and packet pickup are at Commons Park the morning of the race, Saturday, November 7 starting at 7am.

Giveaways and Awards

Giveaways: Participants will receive a custom race medal, race t-shirt, swag bag, and post-race refreshments.

Awards: Overall and age group winners will receive a custom award. Awards ceremony will immediately follow the event.

Book Drive and Raffle

Book Drive: Please bring gently used books for children of all ages. There will be a table with a donation box at the race and at packet pickup. On race day, you can also pick up free books to take home.

Raffle Prizes: Each participant will receive a raffle ticket.
