The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road race courses of accurately measured distances. For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course. In addition, the certification program is very important to the average road racer, as well as those of exceptional speed. Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.

New this year! To celebrate our 40th, we would like to amp up our competitive spirit. You can create or join a team. Awards will be given to both the fastest and largest team. Run St. Augustine's 5K together!

You will be refunded $20 as a thank you when you get 5 friends to sign up using the referral link you receive with your registration confirmation email.  Bring friends and family members of all ages to run or walk this nostalgic 5K!

Can't be with us July 13th? Sign up for the Virtual Option and submit your results to RunSignup. We will have pick up times and locations available or we will ship your shirt/medal to you. There will be no awards for the virtual race. 

Shirts will be guaranteed to everyone who registers by 6/26/2024. Shirts will be given to participants who have not pre-registered on a first come, first serve basis.

Overall Male and Female winners of the 5K will receive awards.

1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes will be awarded to both male and female runners in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up

The race will be professionally scored and timed at the start and finish by Hasselmania Productions LLC. The race will be timed using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number.  Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible, and unaltered.  Results will be posted at the race and then online immediately following the race at  www.RaceSmith.com

There is parking on both ends of the race, near the START (Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, 1 S Castillo Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32084) and the FINISH (Oglethorpe Park.) The distance between both locations is under a mile. Participants in the past typically chose to park at either location and walk back to their vehicle after the race.
