Description
Come run one of the best trails in Northeast Georgia. Gorgeous lakeside views, creek crossings, and a challenging yet runnable trail await you. With two distance options, there’s something for everyone!
Sandy Creek Park opens to participants at 8AM - Both races begin at 9:00am.
REGISTER EARLY BEFORE EACH EVENT SELLS OUT!
Last year both events sold out in early March!
Winners will receive Prize Packs from HOKA for Top Three Men and Women in each race. Overall winners will win a pair of HOKA shoes, redeemed at Fleet Feet Athens.
About the Venue
Sandy Creek park offers the perfect setting for this race. Our start/finish area features a large pavilion with full bathrooms (including showers), a large open field, a small lake-side beach, and a huge playground.
The park requires $2 per person to enter, which is covered with your race entry fee. All spectators will still be required to pay the $2. There is no cost for ages under 4 or above 64. If you have an annual pass to Sandy Creek, make sure to have that out when you enter the gates.
Race Day Schedule
8:00am - Park gates open - Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup available
9:00am - 5K and 15K start time (yes, both races begin at the same time!)
10:30am - Awards
Course Maps
5K: short initial road section followed by technical trails. COURSE MAP
15k: short initial road section and then a full loop+ of the Lakeside Loop Trail. COURSE MAP
Awards
Finisher medals for all!
We will also have place awards for top finishers and age group awards.
Inclement Weather
Race will be postponed up to 2 hours in event of dangerous weather or cancelled. Should Sandy Creek Park deem the trails unrunnable or unusable, we will switch everyone to a modified course(s) within the park. The modified course will be primarily on pavement if necessary.
