Welcome HOME!  Come to Rockmart while you're HOME for the HOLIDAYS...and enjoy our fantastic 5K run/walk!  Be sure to stick around for Rockmart's Silver Comet Festival.  

FESTIVAL INFORMATION

The inaugural Silver Comet Fest (10:00am - 6:00pm) will be held in junction with the 5K run/walk on Saturday, November 27th in downtown Rockmart.  The 5K starts at 9:00am.

The Festival will include:

• Craft & Antique Vendors
• Food Trucks
• Live Music & Entertainment

Please plan to hang around after the 5K for age group awards presentations, while enjoying sponsors' tents and treats and LIVE music!   What a great way to celebrate being HOME FOR the HOLIDAYS, all while supporting a worthy cause! 

Proceeds will allow Rotary Club of Polk Co. to provide academic scholarships to deserving high school seniors from Polk Co.

 

REGISTRATION INFO:

5K Pre-Race, on-line Registration ($25) will be open until 11:00pm, Sunday, Nov. 21st, 2021. (Be sure to pre-register in order to guarantee your T-shirt size!)

       Race-Day Registration OPENS at 7:30am and CLOSES at 8:45am.  Please arrive early. Look for the tents in the parking lot off Church St. along the creek. 

5K Race Day Registration Fee: ($35) 

 

PRE-REGISTRATION PACKET PICK-UP:

Friday, Nov. 26th: If you have pre-registered, we highly-encourage you to pick up your race packet & t-shirt on Friday, Nov. 26th from 2pm--8pm at the Silver Comet Cross Fit Gym in Rockmart, GA.  (120 S Marble St, Rockmart, GA 30153) 

Saturday, Nov. 27th: If unable to get your race packet & t-shirt ahead of time on Friday, you may pick it up on race morning beginning at 7:30am.  Arrive early...it gets crowded fast on race morning.

PARKING: 

Parking is available in the large parking lot across the river from First United Methodist Church.  To get to the parking lot where both Registration and the Start are located, go across the river's bridge on Church, turn left on Bluff St., traveling south, continue to the end of Bluff St., and take a left on Beauregard St. which leads to the large parking lot.

      PLEASE NOTE:

• Park in lot at Starting Line listed above, then it's just a short walk approximately 1/4 mi. back to your vehicle after the race.
• Parking is limited downtown because of Festival traffic.  Therefore, we are asking 5K participants to park in the large parking lot near the race's Start line.

 

5K COURSE:

The 5K is both scenic and fast.  The start is across the river from downtown, travels down Church St. before turning on Water St. and entering the Silver Comet Trail.  After a short out-n-back on the Silver Comet Trail, it returns to the downtown area and continues on the trail, crossing the Silver Comet bridge before heading to Rose Hill Cemetery.  A short loop around Rose Hill Cemetery and the course returns to the downtown area where you will cross the historic covered footbridge before finishing in downtown Rockmart on E. Church St. at South Crest Bank.  This race promises to produce a good time for all, no matter your age!  Run it, walk it, race it!  No matter which one...you'll be glad you came.

PROFESSIONAL TIMING & RESULTS:

Professional, R.F.I.D. Chip-Timing will be provided by Wire2Wire Running, LLC, using MyLaps technology, the same equipment used for the Boston Marathon & Tour de France.
