Keiki Rainbow Run

Join us for a 1.3-mile run alongside hundreds of other youth and beautiful views of the South Shore.

A portion of student registration fees will be returned to your school, making this a healthy and impactful event for students, families, and our schools! Following the run, students will receive a finisher t-shirt and healthy snacks, and will be able to enjoy keiki-friendly activities at the Wellness Fair and Active Zone.

Students and family members from non-participating schools may still register and enjoy the activities.

8:00-10:00 AM

Kakaʻako Waterfront Park (102 Ohe St, Honolulu, HI 96813)

Parking: Available in city parking lots and on the neighboring streets

• 8:00 AM - Group Warm-Ups
• 8:30 AM - Run Starts (we will be releasing students in waves based on age)
• 9:00 AM - Post-run Wellness Fair and Active Zone starts
• 10:00 AM - Event Concludes

Early Registration Rates:

• Students (ages 5-12): $25
• Other Family Members (parents, guardians & other siblings ages 13+ who participate as chaperones): $15
• Little Runners (age 4 and under or with strollers): $10

Students age 8 and younger MUST be accompanied by a registered adult.

Registration Includes:

• Student - Running Bib, Finisher T-Shirt, Snacks, and free participation in Wellness Fair and Active Zone
• Other Family Member - Running Bib only
• Little Runners - Running Bib, Finisher T-Shirt, Snacks

School Registration:

Schools can earn $10 per participating student for their P.E. programs. To qualify, schools must pre-register and have a minimum of ten students involved. Register using this form.  

Run History:

Since 2015, Kahoʻomiki and its partners have hosted an annual keiki run and raised over $150,000 for schools’ P.E. and nutrition programs. During the COVID years, the run went virtual and the Keiki Rainbow Wellness Challenge was created. In 2023, we were able to resume the in-person format and the Keiki Run was held at Honolulu’s beautiful Kakaʻako Waterfront Park.

The volunteers behind the run are P.E. teachers, youth service providers, kinesiologists, nutritionists, community members and parents – all sharing a vision that keiki be active and healthy.

Refund Policy:

There will be no refunds after March 18, 2026.  If you are not able to attend or if the race is canceled due to inclement weather, your child's entry fee will still be donated to the school you designate during online registration. Adult entry fees will be donated to support next year's event. Your entry may not be transferred to another person without prior approval from the event organizers.

If inclement weather, or other circumstances in the surrounding area, threaten to impact the event, we may need to make a decision on whether to continue as planned or make modifications. There are many conditions that could force us to make a change to the run (i.e., high winds, heavy rain, safety concerns on the course, etc.). Modifications to the event may include delaying the start time, modifying the course, or canceling. Keiki Rainbow Run reserves the right to make modifications to the event at any time, and we exercise this right in order to keep participants, volunteers, spectators, organizers, and public safety officers safe.
