Description

Please join us on Saturday morning, May 1, for the 2027 Kick for Kenya 5K!

Run or walk for a cause - race proceeds will be used to fund projects in rural southeastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids (US-based nonprofit), Touch Africa Child Education Project (TACEP, a Kenyan NGO), Gotani Community Development Organization (GCDO), and other local Kenyan community partners, in particular to improve public health, provide educational opportunities, and address ongoing food and water insecurity.

Race Notes:

  • Registration, Entry Fees, and Donations

    • Early bird pricing (through March 31) is $35.
      • All but $10 of the entry fee (which goes to cover race costs) is tax deductible.
    • Entry fee goes up to $40 on April 1 (the cost to provide a K-8 child in Kenya with education for a month) and $45 (cost to provide day high school for a child in Kenya) the week of the race through raceday morning.
    • Additional donations (any amount) also welcome.
    • Although race day registration will be available, pre-registration is highly encouraged so we can start on time and ensure we have sufficient bib numbers, timing chips, and post-race food for everyone!
  • Packet Pickup and Parking

    • Pre-race packet pickup will be available at two times and locations:
      • Eastwind Community Church (4750 S Surprise Way, Boise, ID  83716), 8:30 AM-1:30 PM on Sunday, April 25.
      • Fleet Feet Treasure Valley's Meridian location in The Village (3573 E. Longwing Lane, #105, Meridian, ID  83646), Noon-6 PM on Friday, April 30.
    • Day of Race
      • Packet pickup will run 8-9 AM in the Eastwind Community Church parking lot on Saturday, May 1.
      • Parking will be available across the street at Eagle Christian Church (4601 S Surprise Way, Boise, ID  83716).
        • Because the start/finish line is located in the Eastwind Community Church parking lot, the lot will be closed from 8 AM to noon, so please plan accordingly.
        • Carpooling or biking to the race is highly encouraged.
  • Race

    • Start/finish in the Eastwind Community Church parking lot.
    • Starting gun will go off promptly at 9:30 AM!
    • Course runs out and back along the Surprise Valley bike path to the turnaround at Highway 21.
    • Awards will start at 10:30 AM.
  • Amenities

    • Accurate out-and-back course on flat, scenic bike path
    • Course marshals at all intersections for traffic control
    • Mile splits
