Description
The 1st Annual Trash Dash 5k Run and Walk is an event created by the North Boone High School's National Honor Society.
Beginning at 9am, runners and walkers will begin at Lions Park in Poplar Grove, IL and run onto the Long-Prarie Trail. Following the trail they will turn around at the Illinois Route 76 junction and finish back at Lions Park.
There will be awards for the top 3 in each of the age-groups, male and female.
After the run, particpants are encouraged to stay and help pick up Lions Park in an effort to beautify the park for all to enjoy. All proceeds for the event will be donated to the Poplar Grove Lions Club to fund building new playground equipment for local children.
*North Boone High School students can earn up to 3 hours of community service for completing the run/walk and particpating in the clean-up.
