Hawk Walk: Celebration of Recovery is a self-timed 3K or 5K walk/run held at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis Indiana.  The walk/run takes place on Harrison Trace Trail, an asphalt-surface trail for walkers, bicyclists and joggers that begins at the Delaware Lake picnic area and follows the rolling upland above Fall Creek. Expect some hills. Much of the trail is tree-covered.

Hawk Walk is the primary fundraiser for The 24 Group, a nonprofit foundation that educates the public about the effects of substance abuse on families, and provides grants to local education, treatment and recovery organizations to help adolescents and young adults in early recovery.  Your help is more important than ever!

You have the option to register as an individual or as part of a group/team with friends and family.  Children 6 years and under do not have to register, registration fee for ages 7-15 and 75+ is discounted at $25; a $5.00 per person discount applies when registering 5 participants or more.  In order to guarantee t-shirt size selection, please register by Tuesday 9/3/24.  You will still be able to select t-shirt size if you register after that date, but due to our vendor's production deadlines your size cannot be guaranteed. Additional t-shirts will be available onsite while supplies last on the day of the event, but preferred size is not guaranteed.

Why Hawk Walk

The 24 Group founding board members Marissa and Kim Manlove lost their son David when he succumbed to his struggles with addiction at the age of 16.  The Manloves chose the symbol of a hawk as a reminder of their son.  In Native American culture, hawks are considered messengers that soar between heaven and earth; they help to open our eyes to a vision of a better and brighter future.  Hawk Walk: Celebration of Recovery is David's message of hope for a brighter future for those struggling with the disease of addiction
