This month’s race can be completed any time starting May 21st through May 28th. Just sign up and track the race on Strava. If you don’t have Strava (it is a great app to download) you can time yourself and email us the time.
What is the course?
Start at the kiosk at Shepard’s Farm on Crockett Ridge Rd in Norway. The official start is a small rock, but if you start at the kiosk, the Strava segment will pick it up. Head left on the gravel Detert Trail past the Cat sculpture to the sign that says “To Witt” and head into the woods. Take the Witt Trail down the hill through the woods, passing old stone walls and crossing streams. You will pass the sign for Half Witt Trail, just keep going straight. After the 2 mile mark, you will cross a board walk and see the sign ending the Witt Trail and starting the Half Witt Trail (near the opening to Pleasant Street). This is where it gets fun! Continue on this new section and pass a short boardwalk, then take a sharp right onto the beautifully crafted winding boardwalk through the swamp. This section is a Strava segment, so turn up the pace. Half Witt Trail will end with an uphill and you will turn left back on Witt Trail and head towards home. A couple of sections to note: at about the three mile mark the trail does have a Y. Follow the arrow to the left (not the orange ribbons). When you reach the stone wall and the Witt Trail sign, stay to the right (uphill) but make an immediate left to take you back on the path you used to enter the woods (don’t head for the grass). When you reach the opening and gravel the Detert Trail again, stay left to go by the Bird House sculpture and complete the loop to the finish line. How many times can I run the race?
As many as you want during the one week time frame. We will take your fastest time.
How do I send you my time?
If you use Strava, we will see your time automatically (if your Strava name matches the one you used to register). If you don’t use Strava, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your time.
Are there prizes?
YES! Cafe Nomad gift cards will be awarded to the top times, and mailed to the winners.
What about the rest of the series?
