Description
Get your ghoul-est costume together and join us for the Frightening 5K!
The Frightening 5K walk/run hosted by Hybrid Fitness is set for Saturday, Oct. 26. The annual 5k race event will start with a quarter-mile kid’s race at 8:30 AM. The 5k starts at 9:00 AM with registration starting at 7:45 AM at Hybrid Fitness (161 Main Street, Thomaston ME). Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome!! This 5K is part of the Midcoast Race Series and organized by the local non-profit, One Community Many Voices.
All the funds raised at the Frightening 5k go directly to the 501c3 Non-Profit, One Community Many Voices (www.ocmv.org). OCMV provides gap funding through a model called: The Art of Good Fellowship – Paying it Forward One Neighbor at a Time. The model creates pathways that meet people where they are to resolve a barrier related to employment/skill building, youth aspirations, elderly independent living, transportation, or well-being as quickly as possible. OCMV is currently collaborating with Hospitality House, MCH, AIO, Rockland and Waldoboro Police Departments, Youthlinks, Knox County Community Health Coalition, Trekkers, Pen Bay YMCA, and The Shields Project. OCMV is a place for these agencies to turn to for simple human solutions to barriers when they have no other means to help an individual that meets the criteria.
The 5K race is open to all and costs $25 on race day and $20 for those who pre-register. Please come dressed in your BEST costumes! We will have prizes!! The prizes will be awarded for the fastest male and female finishers and for the runner who finishes in the middle of the pack. We will also have some costume prizes, too!
