Description

This 5k race is in loving memory of 1996 Olympian, Paul McMullen. Paul was a multiple time American champion at 1500m/mile, 1996 Olympian at the Atlanta Games, coach of the Chariots of Fire Track Club, mentor to hundreds of kids, adventurer, father of three children, and husband. The memory and legacy that Paul left behind will never be forgotten and will live in the hearts of many.

Race will start at 9:00AM with day of registration starting at 7:30AM; Packet pick up will also begin at 7:30AM

The 5k course will be on the roads again this year! The course will start between the Cadillac boat launch on Chestnut Street and the Chris Blackburn Skate Park on Chestnut Street. The course will then run west towards Kenwood Elementary and turn left on Newland Street. The route will then turn left again by Cheryls Landing on Lake Cadillac and continue on Chestnut Street to the finish in the Cadillac Boat Launch parking lot (where race registration and packet pick up takes place) on the corner of Lake Street and Chestnut Street.  The route will also feature music, live band, local school drumlines, and water stations. This course is very, very fast! Lots of long straightaways, minimal turns, and not a hill to be seen all along beautiful Lake Cadillac. Fast times are guaranteed! Link to map for the race

The proceeds of the race will go towards a scholarship fund in Paul's name for a senior high school boy and senior high school girl in the Wexford-Missaukee ISD Area.
