Join us for a scenic 5k run or walk at the beautiful Detroit Riverwalk! Our 5th annual Set the PACE 5K supports PACE Southeast Michigan's mission to help older adults live safely and independently in their homes and communities. Your participation will make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors in Southeast Michigan. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while supporting a great cause!
What does my 5K packet include?
All participants who registered by Friday, Oct 9, 2026, will receive a t-shirt and a race bib. Participants will also receive a medal at the finish line. Virtual participants will receive a medal in their race packet. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed if registered after Oct 9, 2026.
Race Details
- This is a timed, out-and-back 5K course on the riverwalk that runs through Milliken State Park.
- One water station will be provided on the course at the turnaround at approximately the 1-mile mark
- Although we love our furry friends at PACE Southeast Michigan, we ask that you please leave your personal pets/dogs at home for the safety and comfort of our runners and volunteers.
- This event is non-refundable and will occur rain or shine.
Awards
Awards will be provided to the first three male and female finishers, and to runners in each of the following age groups:
- 15 and under
- 16 - 30
- 31 - 45
- 46 - 60
- 61 and up

Packet Pick-Up
Virtual participants will be mailed a race packet, including t-shirt (if registered by Oct 9, 2026), bib, and medal.
In-person run and walk participants can pick up their t-shirt and bib at registration. Medals will be handed out at the finish line.
Race Day Schedule
Both the Set the PACE 5K in-person run and walk will start and finish at the Detroit Riverwalk.
- 7:30-8:30 am - Registration and packet pick-up
- 8:50 am - Runners get to starting line
- 9:00 am - 5K Run starts
- 9:00 am - Walkers get to starting line
- 9:05 am - 5K Walk starts
The race will commence promptly at 9:00 am for runners and 9:05 am for walkers. Please be aware that participants will not be able to start the race after these designated times.
Race Day Parking
Ample parking is available at the Riverwalk, located near Cullen Plaza. Please allocate up to 20 minutes for long lines at the park entrance.
