2020 LIFE TIME TORCHLIGHT 5K UPDATE
Greetings Torchlight Family,
We hope this message finds you well, safe and healthy, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate the current COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of everyone involved in our event as well as the broader community has been our top priority as we have been working closely with our partners at the Aquatennial and our local city agencies over the last few weeks and months to determine what the best path forward for this year’s 2020 Life Time Torchlight Minneapolis 5K is.
With that being said, due to the significant impact and risk COVID-19 continues to pose to our community, we made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Life Time Torchlight Minneapolis 5K event originally scheduled to take place on July 22, 2020 in downtown Minneapolis. While this was an incredibly difficult decision and we are heartbroken to not be hosting you this summer, we believe that this is the right decision and that it is in the best interest of all involved.
While we were not able to gather together in person at the start line of the Torchlight 5K this year, we want to give a big shout out to all of you who kept the race day spirit alive and participated in the Torchlight Virtual 5K! We send a heartfelt thank you to all athletes who donated to Minneapolis Public Schools via Life Time Foundation through their entry to the Torchlight 5K and additional donations. Because of your generosity, we raised $12,720 to help Minneapolis Public Schools continue to serve meals during this time of crisis.

The party truly starts the minute you cross the start line and continues well after you cross the finish line with our post-race race entertainment and cool refreshments. Come one, come all for an unforgettable night where you will truly experience the Twin Cities magic!
The Life Time Torchlight 5K through downtown Minneapolis is a summertime favorite! Run through the spectator-lined streets of downtown and across the scenic Plymouth Avenue bridge leading to you by the Boom Island Lighthouse and into the finish chute where a post-race party complete with beer, a band and the best people in town awaits. Whether you’re an avid racer, or a first-timer, the Torchlight 5K is for you!
