Run Ballantyne 8k/5k & Fun Run

This Ballantyne road race tradition continues on Saturday, May 19th, marking the 14th annual Run! Ballantyne 8K, 5K, and Fun Run. With over 1,800 participants last year, this Sara’s YMCA signature event is one of the largest road races in the Ballantyne area. Hit the pavement and make your footprints count in support of the YMCA Annual Campaign that gives youth an opportunity to play, learn and grow in a safe and thriving environment. With the community’s support in 2017, Run! Ballantyne raised over $79,000, providing hundreds of children the opportunity to participate in enriching, life-changing YMCA programs like preschool, after school, summer camp and sports.

Run! Ballantyne serves as the second race in the 2018 YMCA of Greater Charlotte Race Series, with multiple routes designed within the Ballantyne Corporate Park. Perfect for runners and walkers of all levels and ages - beginner to expert. 8K and 5K finishers will receive a custom die cast finisher medal after crossing the vibrant finish line and everyone can enjoy a post-race party filled with DJ music, bubbles, food trucks, awards, door prizes and more!

Make the difference as a team and enter the Run! Ballantyne Team Challenge, a friendly competition amongst South Charlotte area businesses, community groups, and schools. Teams earn participation points as runners, walkers, and volunteers. The team with the most points wins a Team Division award & earns bragging rights as the Run! Ballantyne team most committed to healthy living & social responsibility in 2018.
