"Make It Count" 5k Memorial VIRTUAL Run

The "Make It Count" 5k Memorial Run is a virtual run born from the idea of making everyday and everything we do count in honor of those who are no longer with us. Especially our military heroes who paid for our everydays with their tomorrows. The proceeds from this event will be going to a larger fundraiser called the 140.6 Iron Distance Triathlon Fundraiser which is in memory of 9 US Marines who were friends of my husband. In coopertion with the Iron Distance Tri this fall our fundraising attempts will go to the Kevin Reinhard Scholarship Foundation in honor of Cpl. Kevin Reinhard, USMC, who passed away with five other Marines in Afghanistan in January 2012. 

I encourage you to run, walk or crawl 3.1 miles and to "make it count" today and everyday! May this run be in honor of any friends or loved ones you have lost along the way as well. May the miles and sweat heal wounds or bring back fond memories as you run. And in addition to honoring those special to you, please keep in mind those listed below:

Registration is $20 and the race is to be run on the honor system! You know if you complete it or not and whether or not you paid tribute to those who have left us or if you simply bought a medal to hang on your wall! MAKE IT COUNT! The race is to be completed between now and August 25, 2013 so there's plenty of time to get it done! Your medal will be mailed to you upon registration. Please allow up to two weeks to receive your medal via USPS.
