Race Cancellation and Refunds
Due to Tropical Storm Debby, we will be canceling the inaugural Color Bash & Dash. Luther Britt Park is currently flooded and with the forecasted rain over the next couple of weeks, the probability is high that the course will not be usable. We are very saddened by this as we were looking forward to a unique, exciting, and new run for us. We hope to try again next year. Refunds have already been initiated and if you do not receive them in the next few days, please reach out to info@robesonroadrunners.com. We appreciate your support and hope to see you instead August 24th, 8 am, at the Downtown Lumberton Pocket Park to have a "Colorful" Run on our regular road 5K course!
Place
Lumberton, NC US 28358
Description
Join the Robeson Road Runners for a Color Bash & Dash 5K! Before school starts back, let's have a colorful good time!
- We will be running/walking/jogging a 5K around Luther Britt Park. Wear white to be "bashed" with color at each of our 5 color stations!
- Pre-race festivities will include music, a color throw, and a unique warm-up led by Hollie from Crossfit QFE.
- Post-race activities will include snacks, photo opportunities, and various food truck vendors, including local favorite Sunset Slush of Lumberton.
- Holly Byrd Photography will be taking photos before, during, and after the Color Bash & Dash. Photos will be available for a small fee after the race.
- Runners registered by August 12th will be guaranteed a color packet for the pre-race color throw.
- We will be doing staggered start times every 15 minutes to help with the "flow" and help avoid delays at the color stations
- All proceeds will be for the Robeson Road Runners to continue their community outreach efforts
- The Start/Finish Line will be at the western parking lot of Luther Britt Park off of VFW Road. There will be limited parking in this area but there are additional parking lots located at the main entrance of the park
Tips for running the Color Bash & Dash:
- Wear sunglasses and a bandana over your nose/mouth. While the color is non-toxic and our volunteers will not be throwing it in your face, it's not recommended to breathe in large amounts or get it in your eyes.
- This is probably not the best time to try for a new personal best. The color stations will slow you down.
- Blowers will be available at the end of the run to blow off excess color. Bring wipes and a towel to cover your seat in the car. A plastic bag is recommended for your colorful clothes if you plan to change.
