Description

Millions suffer from addiction- Tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. This run is an opportunity to give a face and name to those who suffer and those who have passed. Also an opportunity to give hopeby supporting those who have made it to recovery. Please join us in mobilizing Hall County Communities towards prevention efforts for tobacco, alcohol, and other illicit drugs. By changing policies- we change social norms and offer hope for future generations!

Tobacco Free Hall County and the Grand Island Substance Abuse Prevention are partnering to sponsor a family run fund raiser. The funds will go directly back to prevention efforts in Hall County Nebraska. The race is called “Outrun Addiction-Finish with Hope.” Recovery is possible from tobacco addiction as well as from drugs and alcohol. We would like to give a face and a name to the disease of addiction and provide hope for recovery.

Registration is open immediately and the first 150 registrants will receive a free t-shirt. Registration costs are $20 for adults racing 5k, and $15 for adults running 1 mile, and $10 for youth (18 and under).  After the free t-shirts with registration- t-shirts for the run will be available at an additional cost of $10.

Please tell us who you will be running for -and that person can be yourself! For $10 we will create an honorary photo with personalized statement to place alongside the running route. Please note this is not only to honor those that have suffered and or died as a direct result of tobacco addiction or a substance abuse disorder- but also to support those who have made it to recovery.

If you would like to honor or a specific loved one during this run please send a picture and short bio to katieu@cncaa and we will create a standing picture to be placed along the route to honor your loved one. Their story will also be made available on the TobaccoFreeHallCounty.net website.
