Description
Virtual 5K Run/Walk for Alzheimer's & Dementia Awareness with Falcon Field Hockey Club. The month of June is dedicated to Alzheimer's and Dementia Awareness.
The owner of Falcon Field Hockey Club, Jennifer, lost her father Guy Falconieri on December 25, 2016 to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a rare form of dementia. Before Guy became ill, he was an avid tennis player and owned his own land surveying company called Falcon Survey. Jennifer worked with her father and his company for 15 years. Guy would come watch his daughter play field hockey at Montclair State University and also when she went on to coach high school sports. Jennifer thought it fitting to name her company in honor of her father. We are hosting a Virtual 5K, in honor of those who are living with or those who lost their battle with Alzheimer's or Dementia.
The concept of a Virtual 5K Run/Walk is you complete the race at the location of your choice any day during the month of June. You can run or walk the 5K, you can do your race alone or get the whole family involved! Be sure to practice safe social distancing!
Participants track their Run/Walk via their own device, whether it be any tracking app on their phones, or using their Smart Devices such as Garmin/Apple watches. You will be able to submit your time using this platform if you would like.
T-Shirts will arrive mid-late June. Pick up or delivery options will be available.
All proceeds go to Alzheimer's Association: https://alz.org/
