The NETwork NY/NJ is an AT&T employee resource group is partnering with the NAACP Edison/Metuchen Chapter on a Walk for Education at Riverside Park in Piscataway on Saturday, June 24th to raise money to benefit the Dr. Marian Croak STEM Scholarship Fund. We’d like to invite members of the community at large to participate in the fundraiser by being a captain and raising money for scholarships or just participating in the walk themselves. Sponsors of the walk are also being sought.
The walk is located at Riverside Park in Piscataway, NJ is a small .5 Mile round park. The walk is a 1 mile health walk starting at 11am and will culminate at the entrance to the NAACP Edison/Metuchen Juneteenth Festival in the park from 12pm-6pm. There will be free music, entertainment, bouncy houses, healthy cooking workshops, vendors and giveaways. AT&T will host a Technology Tent sharing our products and services, cool STEM jobs and the importance of not texting and driving. All are welcome. Volunteers to man the tent needed.
In 2016, NETwork NY/NJ raised $11,000 and gave 11 college scholarships to minority high school students from Camden, Jersey City, Elizabeth, Franklin, Newark, Orange, and New York City. In 2017 we are looking to double our efforts and raise $25,00 for scholarships for inner-city youth. With your support, we'll accomplish this goal. Sign up today!
