Welcome to the Wy'east Howl, the premier trail running event on Mt. Hood! The Howl offers wildly scenic and beautiful 100K, 50K and half marathon trail running races on Wy'east (the native name of Mt. Hood, pronounced "why-east") including the iconic Timberline Trail. The Howl offers the only ultras on the slopes of Mt. Hood proper, providing an incomparable mountain race experience. Each race features extensive mountain views and miles of runnable singletrack trails through Pacific NW forest, wildflower meadows and exposed ridgelines.
