The Oregon Run

Description

Have you ever wanted to run the entire length of the Oregon coast? Or maybe across the entire state of Oregon?  Yeah, we know most of you probably never even thought of it.  But that's ok, because now you actually have a reason to think about it (you've been stuck inside the house for the lfe months), and a chance to do it! Without ever leaving your house or neighborhood.

The Oregon Run is a race across the state to see who can get to Astoria first.

There are three course options: The Coast Route, the High Desert Route, and the Gorge Route. Each route also has a 2-person relay option.

The Coast Route starts at the Oregon-California border on Highway 101 just south of Brookings.  It runs almost entirely along Highway 101 finishing 353 miles later in Astoria. Runners will actually finish the race on the northern end of the Astoria-Melger bridge in Washington.

The High Desert Route starts in the southeast corner of the state in McDermitt, on the Oregon-Nevada border.  This is the longer of the two routes, and runners will have ticked off 545 miles once they arrive on the northern end of the Astoria-Melger bridge. Racers will travel through Bend, past Mt. Hood, and through Portland, and as they make their way toward the finish.

The Gorge Route starts in Hood River, and heads east along the Columbia Rover Gorge, mostly along Highway 30.  After passing through Portland, the route continues along Highway 30, mirroring the Columbia River, all the way to Astoria, finishing 170 miles later.

High Desert and Coast Route Individual races start on May 23 and runners have 100 days, until August 31, to get to the finish line.

The Gorge Route Individual race starts on June 7 and runners have 85 days to make it to Astoria.

All 2-person relay races start on June 22 and runners have 70 days, until August 31, to get to the finish line.

Runners will enter their own mileage and running times here on the race website. As runners enter their results, the leaderboard and overall standings will be updated live here on the website. We're also exploring the possibility of a weekly live webcast to reacp the week's results/standings.

All runners will receive a printable bib number, gender specific shirt, and finishers will receive a finisher's medal upon completion. All items will be shipped.
