Scouting the Moon (Draft)

Welcome to the website for the second Scouting the Moon 5k/10k Trail Races being held on October 5th, 2025 at the Clearview Pavilion in Moon Park.  This event is organized by Scouts BSA Troop 198 in Moon Township and all proceeds will go to support the Troop and Scouts on their path to Eagle.   

The values of Scouting found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law are just as relevant today as they were in 1910. The programs continue to help youth develop skills to last a lifetime in the areas of leadership, self-confidence, ethics, academic skills, citizenship, and much more through trying new things and providing service to others.  Your participation will help defray the cost of organizing the event.  These items include the purchase of equipment, maintenance of the troop trailer, purchase the many merit badges and awards earned by the Scouts and fund campouts and activities throughout the year.  

This event will also provide you an opportunity to get outdoors to explore the trails in Moon Park in the 5k and to delve into the treasures of the Montour Woods in the 10k event.   All entrants will receive T-shirts while supplies last.    Awards will be given to the top Male & Female in 5k and 10l and all finishers will receive a custom wooden medal upon completion of the event.
