Virtual 5K & 1-Mile Walk for Grief Awareness

This year, especially with the COVID-19 Pandemic, many children in our community are experiencing grief. We want them to know that they are not alone. Of course, they can always reach out to teachers or counselors in the school if they feel comfortable. However, a not as well known resource is the Highmark Caring Place. This organization provides focused support to kids dealing with grief and lets them know they don't have to go through it alone. The Caring Place provides an emotionally and physically safe environment for children to share their grief, feelings, and memories, and receive encouragement from others their age. This organization is incredibly important because it allows kids to interact with other kids and progress past this incredibly hard time in their lives.
