York YMCA Swim For Safety Thon

Swim For Safety Thon, hosted by the Arthur J. Glatfelter YMCA, is a new event in 2024.  Swimmers choose and complete one event length: 2 mile, 1 mile or half mile.  

Fundraiser

This fundraising event provides FREE swim lessons for 2nd grade youth in the West York and City of York school districts.  Swimming is an essential life skill that can prevent drowning emergencies in youth.  Event proceeds, swimmer donations and the entrance fees, benefit the free swim lesson program. Event participants are encouraged to set up an Individual Fundraising Page to raise dollars for our youth development cause.  

Event Details

Location: Graham Aquatic Center, 543 N. Newberry Street, York, PA 17401

Event Start time: 11:00 am

Participant Swim Time:  Heat time will be emailed to the participant on Thursday, April 11.  Heats are organized by anticipated completion time, with fastest times scheduled in earliest heats.  Registrations after Wednesday, April 10, 5:00 pm, will automatically be scheduled into open heat slots, regardless of anticipated finish time.

Lane Assignments: Lanes for each of the 3 event lengths include 2 lanes for 2 miles, 2 lanes for 1 mile and 4 lanes for the half mile.

Registration includes a wicking shirt.  Please sign up early to ensure your shirt size.
