Description

Virus safe, real deal gravel racing kicks off 2021 in style...Real racing, real awards, real accomplishments, real fun! We recognize that many need a tune up before taking on the 2021 Texas Chainring Massacre so we're going to push it later into the year (date TBD) so that everyone has a chance to get into top racing form. Club Spinistry members save $20, FREE for Golden Ticket holders!

The race distances will be a bit shorter than usual to help folks ramp up to the Texas Chainring Massacre and Red River Riot but the competition will be just as stout. This will be wave format racing. We will be launching groups of 10 or less every 15 minutes. Each rider will be properly social distanced at the starting line. 100 milers will have a specified 7:30am start group. All other distances can start in any available wave spots from 8am and after. Online signup only, there will not be on site registration. Riders and racers MUST check in and start at their designated wave times.

Available distances of 100ish miles, 53ish miles, 40ish miles and 30ish miles. 100 mile route will be considered self navigated, all other routes will be marked. Neutral water will be available on course for all distances. Support vehicles/handups/etc. are NOT permitted. Racing is considered self supported except for any neutral support provided by the organizers. There are no amenities (stores or restrooms) along the route. GPS navigation files will be provided for all distances. We will offer free access to the Ride With GPS navigation app for riders and racers who do not already have a dedicated navigation device. Please learn to use the app prior to race day. We will not be able to teach people how to use Ride With GPS at the event.

Awards will be based on number of participants for each distance. We will have at least overall awards 3 deep for each distance. We will include age and gender breaks when there are at least 5 racers are competing in the same age/gender/distance groups. All of those will be determined after the race. The wave format means that any distance be started at any available wave time. We will not be able to determine ahead of time which participants have elected to ride/race which distances. All results will be compiled post race and preliminary results will be distributed online and via email that day. Final results will be published within 48 hours.

Helmets are required, no motorized bicycles are allowed. More details soon
