We offer a 5K or 1-mile run (or walk)....just make it to the finish line! Your individual time will not be tracked, however, there will be a race clock. Everyone receives a T-shirt, a SUPER AWESOME swag bag, and a FANCY finisher medal.
All proceeds benefit the Peyton Irwin Foundation in their mission of educating others on the dangers of distracted driving and awarding students with scholarships.
ALL LEVELS AND ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!
The “WHY” behind the Pineapple Run
On March 29, 2019, Peyton Irwin was traveling to San Antonio Texas to support her Alma Mater Drill Team at a state competition. Unfortunately, Peyton never made it to the event because she, along with three other passengers in the vehicle, was killed by a distracted driver. The driver of the vehicle was on the phone texting - not seeing the stopped car Peyton was in - and applied his brakes just .06 seconds prior to hitting their vehicle while traveling approximately 60 miles per hour. It is so important to educate people on the dangers of texting, social media, handling phones, and other distractions while driving a vehicle. Had he been paying attention, he could have seen them and slowed down, or swerved to miss them. We want to prevent this from happening to anyone else! Thank you for participating in this year’s event to help us spread awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.

Race Route
This is not your average “flat-and-forget-it” race—and that’s half the fun.
Our course will take you across a football field, through a soccer field, and then straight into the great outdoors, where things get a little… adventurous. Expect a mix of grass, dirt, rocky patches, uneven ground, and yes—possibly mud (because what’s a good race without a little mess?).
You’ll be running, weaving, watching your footing, and maybe laughing at yourself once or twice along the way. Sturdy shoes are highly recommended, ankles should be awake, and paying attention is key. This is a look-where-you’re-going kind of course.
Is it challenging? Maybe.
Is it unpredictable? Possibly.
Is it fun? 100% yes.
Take it at your own pace, help out your fellow runners, and embrace the adventure. Whether you’re racing for time or just along for the ride, this route promises memories, smiles, and maybe a splash or two.
Run smart. Run safe. And most importantly—have a blast!
