Twisted Trail 10k
Description
****ATTENTION*******
Due to construction at the New London Tech Trails our course will have to change this year. We are working on the new course, but it will still be a 10k. The Start/Finish area will change slightly too. It will be in a grass field on the right side of the big roundabout as you drive in from the main road.
Come run on the New London Tech Trails for the 5th annual Twisted Trail 10k. Stay afterward for age group awards, food and fellowship.
We have a great location lined up - nice trail system - and gracious hosts with the Bedford County Parks and Recreation.
Come run one of Bedford County's newest and nicest trail systems.
We will have both male and female shirt sizes. Shirts guaranteed to those registered by 6/16.
RRCA VA State 10K Championship
We are VERY excited to host the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Virginia State Cross Country Championship!
Especially exciting is showing the state of Virginia our "neck of the woods" here in Forest, a great community in Bedford County.
RRCA State Championship Awards will be given to:
Top Open finishers of each gender
Top Master's runner (age 40+)
Grand Master's runner (age 50+)
Senior Grand Master's runner (60+)
Place
Parking will be in the grass field. We will also park cars at Simplimatic Automation if needed.
Course Description
ATTENTION**
The course will be changing this year. The plan is to still be at the New London Tech Trails. We are still working out the exact route at the moment, but will update this once we have the new course.
The course will run all three of the loops at the New London Technical Trails: Orange, Blue, and Green.
Turns will be marked with streamers and there will be course marshals at tricky points.
The trails are well-used, feature minimal trip hazards, and are still relatively new as they were completed less than 4 years ago.
There will be at least one, but maybe two water stops along the course.

Turn by Turn Directions
Run the grassy road for roughly 0.5 miles
L onto Green Loop. Run the entire Green Loop (.75 miles)
L onto rocks/grass for less than .1 mile
L onto Blue Loop. The blue loop has been rerouted with the disc golf course, but it's clearly marked. (.8 miles)
Sharp R onto Orange Loop. There *may* be water here, cumulative distance 2.2 miles
Orange Loop for the rest of the race. Water/light aid at mile 4. After the water stop is where the race really begins. It is very fast to the finish!
Total Distance: Approximately 6.2 miles, possibly longer, possibly shorter.

Race Day Packet Pickup: 6:30 am - 7:30 am
Race Briefing: 7:45 am
Race Start: 8 am
Awards: ~9:30 am
All race-day events are located at the main trailhead

All runners will receive a gender-specific race t-shirt.
Age group awards will be given to the following:
- Male and Female Top Master (40+)
And the Top 3 Finishers Per Gender in these Age Groups - Overall
- 14 and under
- 15 - 19
- 20 - 29
- 30 - 39
- 40 - 49
- 50 - 59
- 60 - 69
- 70+
Packet Pickup
Early packet pickup will be on

Hang a left after coming in the front doors and we will be in conference room near the book checkout area.
