Description
Queen City Rucking for 22 will be BACK in Staunton Virginia on August 10th 2024 at the Gypsy Hill Park - Stonewall Brigade Bandstand.
Registration will begin at 0700hours under the Red Tent. Opening Ceremony will be conducted at 0745hrs. Step off will be at 0800hrs.
Starting and ending point is the Gypsy Hill Park - Stonewall Brigade Bandstand
• Ruckers can choose from the 22K Ruck through the streets of Staunton or the 5 mile course.
• Proceeds will go to Boulder Crest Foundation. Boulder Crest is the home of Posttraumatic Growth (PTG). They offer life-changing programs Free of Charge to members of the military, veterans, and first responder communities, and their families.

QCR22 is a 501(c)(3) Charity Ruck-March (Hiking) mission event, with a purpose by and for active Hero's and Patriots. It is a coordinated fundraising event for, a Veteran and/or 1st Responder 501(c)(3) charity organization. We welcome, encourage and Challenge all Vets, First Responders, Family, Friends, local Supporters, endurance athletes…well, Everyone to join us to show our personal Super Hero’s they matter, we love them, we care about them and we support them.
This is a fun fitness Team building event.
Required Items:
***Weight Standard: If you are under 150lbs, carry 10lbs of static weight and if you are over 150lbs, carry 20lbs of static weight. ***STATIC WEIGHT does not include water, snacks, iFAKs, etc. STATIC WEIGHT should be ruck plates, flat gym plates, old phone books, text books, etc. PLEASE AVOID dumbbells or sand bags as they can settle in the bottom of your Rucks causing injury.
- Ruck Sack or strong back capable of supporting your static weight and other required items.
- Reflective Ruck Bands, PT Belt, Traffic Vest, runners bands.
- Minimum of 3L of water in a hydration bladder system. (QCR22 does not provide the water but will have extra onsite)
- Extra bottle of water (can be store bought or Nalgene Bottle).
- Energy snacks, Food (licks, chewies, yum yum, Scooby snacks)
- One pair of Extra Socks
- Comfortable shoes/boots
- Waterproof bag
- Rain gear
*** Cell Phone with extra battery source. You will need your phone for LandNav as well as for checking in along your route.
Both the 22K route and the 5K routes will have locations you must decipher, take a photo with and send that photo back to the Bandstand to check in.
Carrying weight in your ruck/backpack during the mission represents the weight many service members carry in the battle against combat stress
No method of transportation is authorized except rucking.
Obey all traffic laws (and all the other laws, too) while participating.
