Salish Wealth Management presents The Longest Day 10K - THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 21 - chip timed with a 7pm start.

Sign Up Now - $30 Entry Fee - A blue race tech t-shirt, race medal and access to the post-race hot dog bbq are included with your entry fee.

Plus, $10 from your $30 entry fee goes directly to Teach One to Lead One Whatcom County (T1L1WC), a community mentoring program teaching universal principles to lead at-risk kids to a life of purpose and potential. Funds raised allow T1L1WC to continue growing and reaching as many at-risk youth as possible.

This event is designed for you! The Longest Day 10K is ideal for serious runners looking for a chip-timed competitive or training race as well as those looking for a fun, unique and family-friend event and all runners/walkers/shufflers in between.

This course does have portions of trail running and may not be entirely wheelchair, assisted wheelchair or stroller friendly. If you have a jogger stroller and are familiar running/walking with it you should be fine. There will be railroad track crossings you will be crossing.

Unfortunately we will not be allowing furry friends of any kinds to run the race with participants.

The Longest Day 10K gives runners a little bit of everything – city and trail running mixed with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest including breath-taking views of the Bellingham waterfront as the solstice sun begins to set.
Starting at Fairhaven Village Green, you'll head north - towards Mill Avenue – onto 10th Street Trail in the direction of Taylor Dock. Stay on 10th Street until you reach Easton Road on your right. Take a right up Easton Road and then a flagger will direct you onto South State Street as you continue to the left. Once on North State Street, run until you reach the roundabout, where you will take a sharp left onto Wharf Street. Continue onto Cornwall Avenue until directed by a flagger to turn left onto West Laurel Street. Following rout markers and flaggers, continue into Waypoint Park. This is roughly halfway through the race and a water station opportunity. From here continue along West Laurel Street, taking a right onto Cornwall Avenue - following flagger directions.

On the return, at the top of Wharf Street, take a sharp right onto South Bay Trail following it through Boulevard Park which, although under construction, will be opened by the city for this race. Enjoy running waterside through the park as the sun sets. Continue along the boardwalk. At the top of Taylor Dock, take a right to continue along 10th Street Trail into Fairhaven and across the finish line where you will receive your race medal!

Founded in 1996, Teach One to Lead One (T1L1) is a community mentoring program that teaches universal principles to lead at-risk* kids to a life of purpose and potential. By directly putting qualified mentors into classroom, this non-profit program offers a positive influence that many at-risk kids have never had.

The Whatcom County Chapter of T1L1, lead by Jacob Mack, opened its doors in 2018 and is currently mentoring students at many schools and juvenile court locations throughout the Northern Washington area. So far in the 2018-19 school year, 250 at-risk students in 5 local schools are being reached with many more students and schools on the waiting list.

Thank you for partnering with this great organization by running the Longest Day 10K! There are many great opportunities  for you to continue partnering and make a difference in the lives of young adults through mentoring and/or financial support. Please contact Teach One to Lead One Whatcom County to get connected. Thank you for caring about kids!
