We recommend participants take advantage of early packet pick-up at Roscoe Middle School on Friday, October 6th between 5 and 7 PM.

6.     Can I pick up for a friend at the early packet pick-up?

Yes. We will just need to make a note of your name.

7.     May I register for the race after online registration ends?

No, unfortunately this creates logistical hurdles for other portions of the event.

Run shirt exchanges are very limited and on a case-by-case basis. No refunds will be provided to include event cancellation due to inclement weather.

9.   Do you offer registration discounts?

10.   What is the course & how long is a 5k?

Both the 5K Course and 2-mile course will Start and Finish at Roscoe Middle School (RMS) parking lot.  The out-and-back course runs west bound to the Stone Bridge Trail and then travels south on the Stone Bridge Trail. A course map can be found on our registration homepage. Keep in mind that the 2023 Jaimie Cox Memorial Run/Walk features a variety of running surfaces, including gravel.

A 5K is 3.1 miles or 16,368 feet.  The "K" stands for kilometer. A kilometer is 0.62 of a mile, which makes a 5K race 3.1 miles long or 16368 feet long or 5000 meters long.

The 5000 meter is known as a popular track event, particularly in the Olympics. On a standard indoor track (200 meters), you would need to run 25 laps to run a 5K. On a standard outdoor track (400 meters), 12.5 laps would equal a 5K. Currently, Ethiopian runner Kenenisa Bekele holds both the world and Olympic record for the 5000 meter at 12:37:35 on an outdoor track and 12:49:60 on an indoor track.

13.   Who are you raising money for?

The goal of this event is to provide a monetary donation to The Jaimie Cox Foundation. The Jaimie Cox Foundation provides donations to various local organizations that serve populations Jaimie held close to his heart: Underprivileged youth, Veterans, First Responders and those pursuing higher education with little to no financial assistance.

14.   Where should I park?

Parking will be provided in the Roscoe Middle School main parking lot. Additional parking will be available at Life Church, just northwest of the school. Registrants and guests are encouraged to carpool to save space since parking is limited. Parking is FREE.

15.   Do you have a photographer for the event?

TBD

16.   Do you allow walkers/strollers/skateboards/dogs?

Strollers and walkers are welcome at the race.  If you will have a stroller or are walking the 5K, please line–up at the rear of the race start to minimize the injury potential of runners.  Walkers are required to stay to the right so as not to obstruct runners as they return from the turnaround.  Skateboards/scooters/rollerblades, pets, and any motorized (electric or gas) mode of transportation are not allowed at the race. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
