FAQ

IN-PERSON 5K RUN & 1M WALK EVENT

Q: Where is parking for the event?

A: Plenty of parking is available at Hatboro-Horsham High School (899 Horsham Road). From there it’s just a short walk over to the stadium where the race will begin. Please don’t park along Hatters Way or at Simmons Elementary School, as this could present a safety issue for runners on the course.

Q: Will there be water &/or refreshments available or do I need to bring my own?

A: There will be a water station at the half-way point and water bottles available at the finish line. There will also be light refreshments at the stadium after the race.

Q: Will there be any awards?

A:  Medals and prizes will be given to the top three males and females as well as the top male and female in each age category, based on their finishing time in the 5K run.

VIRTUAL RUN/ WALK EVENT

Q: How does the virtual event work?

A: Register on the site by August 11. Then you can run or walk wherever you’d like, preferably on August 11 so we’re all participating together in honor of Jack and support of mental health. The virtual event is open August 9 – 12 in case you have a conflict on the 11th. Log your miles by the end of the day on August 12 to show that you’ve completed the event.

Q: What awards or souvenirs are available from the virtual event?

A: In addition to the t-shirt (for early registrants), everyone who participates receives a Customized Bib and Finisher’s Certificate. You can view &/ or print your bib by clicking on the bib number next to your name in the list of participants and your Finisher’s Certificate from your individual results page (where you’ve been logging your miles). There will also be raffle prizes available for participating (logging miles) and for posting photos.

TEAMS

Q: I registered on my own, but now I want to join (or start) a team

A: Go to your RunSignup profile by logging into this site or through your registration confirmation email link to MANAGE REGISTRATION, then click on GROUP/ TEAM. You will then have a choice to either create a new team or join an existing team.

Q: How does my team get credit for my results – do I have to do something extra?

A: No, if you’re on a team your results will automatically be associated with your team.

CHANGING EVENTS

Q: I registered for the in-person event, but now I can’t make it (or registered for the virtual event and now would like to attend in person); can I switch to the other event?

A: Yes, you can easily switch to other events (until registration is closed on August 10.) Follow the prompts to START TRANSFER, then CHOOSE YOUR EVENT, and CONTINUE.

OTHER

Q: How do I find more events and information supporting mental health?

A: Please see our website Jack Duffy Empowerment Foundation, to learn more about what we're doing to support Jack's legacy and find resources on mental and physical health.

Q: What is the significance of the snow leopard race logo?

A: The snow leopard was Jack’s favorite animal, although he loved all cats, especially our own. In a personal essay, Jack once wrote, “If I were an animal I would love to be a snow leopard. They’re powerful, independent, good looking, and have a diverse diet.”
