Description

August 26th is considered Women's Equality Day in the United States of America. It was the anniversary of the passing of Women's Rights to Vote. The observance of Women’s Equality Day not only commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, but also calls attention to women’s continuing efforts toward full equality. Workplaces, libraries, organizations, and public facilities now participate with Women’s Equality Day programs, displays, video showings, or other activities.

Participants can participate in the 1 Mile walk or 5K run in person or virtually. This run begins on time so please arrive at least 15 minutes early to receive your race packet.

Participants can run in the 5K for FREE (but will not receive a finishers medal or T-shirt). Participants who wish to receive a medal, must pay a small fee to enter into the race for a finishers medal. Race participants will receive a finishers medal and have the chance to win a prize. T shirts are limited to the first 25 participants. T shirt sizes are not guarenteed after 7/20/2021.

5K Racers registration - $35 
Registration price will increase after July 20th. Race Day Registration is available for an non-refundable administration fee of $10

• 5K top age groups winners will receive a trophy. Overall 5K winner will also win their registration fee in Ca$h!.

• Finisher medals will be on sale for $15 for non racers. T Shirts for non racers will be on sale for $20. 

NO REFUNDS due to non participation. If this race is canceled due to COVID-19, partial refunds or exchanges will be issued.

Runners who decides to run in the virtual race will receive their Bib, Finisher Medal, and T-Shirt (first 50 registers only) by mail.

For our In person runners, we will all meet up at Hammonds park in Junction City, KS to start at the sound of the gun. We will run the course on open roads. Our virtual runners will be timed on their own. Although the in person race will be timed, we will not block off the route from on coming traffic or allow vendors (in hopes that this will eliminate gatherings due to COVID outbreaks). The in person run will also be limited to 20 - 30 participants. For our virtual runners, immediately after completing a 5K/10K run/walk on Saturday, March 27th, submit your results to us. You’ll get to open up your personal swag-box which will include everything you need to make your run extra special!

NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!

Beneficiary:
The Respect Runners Club is our official beneficiary for the 2021 5k! The RR club has an college fund that is donates to all members to be able to register for races. This run is particularly supporting their scholarship fund.

Awards breakdown: First Place Overall Female, First Place Masters female, and 1 deep in each age group - Men's & Women's 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Note: For our in person race, there needs to be no less than 10 registrants. If there is less than 10 participants, all registrants will be switched to our virtual event and a race day packet will be mailed to you. There will be No Race Day Registration!
