Description
Course description: The race will begin at the Coal Miners Memorial Park in Benham, KY, and run down the Looney Creek trail, a gravel course on a converted railbed, to a break in the trail near Cumberland Elementary School. Participants will then turn around and retrace the route to the start/finish line. Runners and walkers are welcome!
Awards: The top three males and females in each age group (13-29, 30-49, 50+) will receive a medal. The top overall male and female will also receive a trophy. All participants will also be entered into a drawing for prizes from sponsors.
Proceeds: will benefit the Harlan County High School track and cross country programs.
Entry fees: For the 5K: $20 until June 15, then increases to $25. For the Kids Rainbow Run: $5 until June 15, then increases to $8. T-shirts guaranteed for all participants who sign up by the June 15 deadline; after that, shirts will be given on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the race. Checks should be made out to the HCHS Cross Country Boosters and can be dropped off with registration forms at the Bradford Square Apartments office, 2319 E. Main Street in Cumberland, or the COAP office, 301 N. Main Street in Harlan. Registration and payment can also be mailed to Jarrod Sherman, PO Box 176, Lynch, KY 40855.
