This race will be benefiting the Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc (C.O.P.S.) Kentucky Chapter. The mission of C.O.P.S. and KY C.O.P.S. is to provide resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving family and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, C.O.P.S. provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support law enforcement profession and its survivors.
Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc., also known as C.O.P.S., is a national non-profit organization organized in 1984 by 110 family survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. C.O.P.S. was organized to begin the work to meet the needs previously unmet for those affected by a law enforcement officers line of duty death.
The Kentucky Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) was chartered in 2001 as an affiliate chapter of National C.O.P.S. KY C.O.P.S. board members serve in a volunteer capacity, providing grassroots, local support for all family and affected co-worker survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty who reside in the state of Kentucky. We are a non profit, tax exempt 501©(3) organization. All contributions to KY C.O.P.S. are tax deductible as allowed by IRS regulations.
Organized in 2001, the Kentucky chapter of Concern of Police Survivors has been working to reach out to law enforcement survivors and agencies across KY.
