Description
The Eli Kennedy Foundation was founded in 2014, one year after Eli was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. When Eli was 6, we began to notice symptoms of diabetes. On March 17, 2013, Eli was diagnosed and sent to Kosairs. Since that time, he has gone from taking shots to now being on the Medtronic 670G insulin pump. The mission of the Eli Kennedy Foundation is to raise funding to donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) so that research can continue and a cure can one day be found. We began the annual Run for Type 1 5k in 2014 and have had this event every year. In total, the Eli Kennedy Foundation has donated around $12,000 to JDRF.
