There is no better time to honor America's Heroes than the present. We all have one or more heroes in our life (parent, friend, mentor) or maybe a group of people (nurses, doctors, soldiers, military, public service officials or other front-line workers) that you consider heroes. This race gives you the chance to honor these everyday heroes.
WHO DO YOU RUN FOR? We want to give you the opportunity to run for your hero or heroes.
Run, walk or hike a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon (either as one run/walk or in segments) between June 27th and August 23rd and earn a super commemorative finisher's medal as well as a cool, comfortable performance shirt and digital bib. Your bib will have a space for you to indicate who you run for. You also have the opportunity to purchase an extra finisher's medal ($7.00) to give to your hero to honor them.
Our race will benefit Team RWB whose mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
FORM A TEAM Expand your race fun by starting a social team or joining an existing team. Teams can be formed by families, churches, businesses, running clubs, RWB teams or just random friends. All you need is a team name (Feel free to be creative!) to get started. Once you form your team invite your friends to join the fun.
SHARE YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT We encourage you to share a photo or workout data on our FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE once you've completed your "race". This will give our community an opportunity to celebrate your accomplishment and finish virtually.
POST YOUR RESULTS You can post your race results through your RunSignUp.com account. Just log-in and find the America's Heroes event. Look to the right hand side for the link to "Post Results". From there you can post your results and/or indicate you have completed your 5K, 10K or Half Marathon.
PRICING Early Bird ($20 from June 1-June 4), $25 (June 5-July 4), $30 (July 5-August 22)
PACKET PICKUP/MAILING OF PACKETS We plan to have several opportunities for local runners from Central Kentucky to pickup packets on the weekend of August 21-23. For those who live outside of Central Kentucky we'll mail you your packet for a $5.00 shipping charge.
ARE YOU NEW TO THE VIRTUAL RUN/WALK CONCEPT? A virtual run/walk provides the opportunity for our community to still conduct charity events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since we are limited in our ability to gather together a virtual race gives you the opportunity to run/walk/hike your race on your schedule in your hometown. You can run/walk any route you wish and do it in one run/walk or in segments to accumulate the mileage.
SHIRT SIZING Our shirts for this race are a mesh performance (tech) type shirt. They are sized in men's (unisex), women's (tighter fit) and youth sizes. We will only order the shirts which are claimed through the race registration process so there will be no shirt swaps once you receive your shirt.
GET A REFUND BY REFERRING YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY We have enabled referral rewards for this race. When you register you'll receive a custom browser link that you share with your friends/family. If 3 people register using your unique link you'll earn a $10.00 refund on your credit card. If a total of 5 people register using your link then the refund doubles to $20.00. FINISHER'S MEDALS!
All participants receive one of these sweet looking finisher's medals. For a $7.00 add on you can get an extra finisher's medal and present it to the hero in your life!
PERFORMANCE/TECH RACE SHIRTS!
For your participation you'll receive a commemorative mesh performance (tech) shirt, custom finisher's medal and digital race bib. We'll also have an "I RUN FOR" bib you can download and print off to indicate your heroes name. These items will all incorporate the race logo. We'll have mock ups of the shirt, medal and bib coming soon.

Our chapters deliver local, consistent, and inclusive opportunities for veterans and the community to connect through physical and social activity. Volunteers host regular fitness activities, social gatherings, and community service events, and facilitate building strong local connections with members and organizations within the community.
