Description
SHORT. TRACK. RACING
Here is everything you need to know for the JUNE 12th STXC race!
Eva Bandman Park at 1701 River Rd. Louisville is where it will happen.
Parking:
• Anywhere in the mowed area of the grass field. Just don’t get stuck.
• Along the side of the road in the park, don’t block it!
• At the bottom lot down by the river.
• If all of that fills up, Waterfront Park isn’t far away, and if you know how the greenway trail that comes through Eva Bandman connects that could be a good option.
Check-In/Registration:
You must check in to get your plate. Please do this as soon as you get there so you have plenty of time to get ready for your race. We won’t wait on you! If you are registering day of, it will still be through the website. We do this because it pulls your data directly into our timing system and this allows us to keep the show rolling without delays.
Start times:
Start times are posted by the category you registered for. They are also on a few graphics floating around on social media.
How does STXC work?
The most laps you can do in given time for your category wins the race. Simple as it gets.
Chip Timing:
This is a chip timed race. You don’t get scored if you don’t rock your plate. Don’t cut your plate to be “aero” either, please. USE YOUR PLATE FROM LAST WEEK!
What bikes are allowed?
Anything is allowed. Mountain bikes (non CX/Gravel/Drop bar) bikes will be scored towards podium/points. The “other” bikes you will get a time, get to race, have fun. We will just ignore that result when tallying podiums and series points. We want EVERYONE to race, no matter what bike they have. We also have to protect the integrity of the race equipment.
Start line:
It will be down by the big tree. You will see a couple start signs near it. Go there before your race starts!
Course Notes:
It will start on pavement, head down the hill, make a sweeping left, ride down or go around the railroad ties. Big loop out in the field to climb back towards the pavement to then make a right, and another right down the rock steps (we have a B line), into the woods, into the grass, back into the woods around some slightly trick turns before an optional jump or outside sweeping turn. Then it's the same as week 1 winding through the woods before heading to the top of the hill to do another lap. This is a bit longer than week 1. Should be faster in the grassy bits too.
Awards/Points:
• We are giving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd medals to ALL paid categories at all three races.
• We are NOT giving prizes until the end and those will go to SERIES 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for all paid categories. Pro Men and Women will get some $$$
• All races count towards points. You must do all three to be counted towards the overall.
• Youth get popsicles after the event.
Food/Beer:
• No food truck, everyone charges minimums and we had to pay $550 for week 1 truck, booooo.
• Mile Wide Beer Co. will hopefully be slinging beers again as long as they have staff to cover it.
Volunteering:
Help is welcome before and after the event. Teardown will be in the dark-ish. So having folks stay to help pull poles, tape, etc. is a massive help. If you can help setup that is even better. Please come out when you can and we will make it all come to life together.
Bike Wash:
We will have a bike wash thanks to our friends at Finish Line! Up by the park entrance look for a bike rack, water hose, and things to scrub your steed with before heading home.
