Join us for the 2nd Annual Magical Miles For Molly 3K on Sunday, April 25th, at 2:00pm at Riney B Park/Trail in Nicholasville.
Our race is held in honor of a sweet, young girl named Molly who absolutely loves unicorns. She has been diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia), a type of cancer in the blood. The great news is that after over a year of treatment Molly is planning to join us in person for the race.
Our 2021 race will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society whose mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Our race features commemorative unicorn themed T-shirts (Molly loves unicorns!), chip-timing (Thanks, RaceRise), Overall & Age Group awards (3K Only), a Kids' Dash (1/4 mile), virtual runner/walker opportunity, DJ, race photos, and cupcakes for all at the finish.

IN A MOTHER'S WORDS...
Molly is our baby!
She is one of four kids who help us love others better! Molly wasn’t feeling well at the end of the summer. We went to the doctor only to find it was a virus. We went back a couple days later and they thought it might have developed an ear infection. Then we started seeing random bruising. We knew something was up and went to our PA at Jessamine Medical. Listening to a mom who says leukemia, isn’t easy, but Erin at Jessamine Medical listened. We went to the ER and Molly was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia), a type of cancer in the blood. That night, doctors found a very large mass that was blocking her airway and laying on her heart and lung. She went in to have lines placed for chemo the next day. With nurses and doctors EXPECTING a collapsed airway and the necessity of a breathing tube, she went into the operating room. A procedure that should have lasted 2 hours, was much shorter and she DID NOT need a tube. The next week and a half consisted of amazing nurses and doctors caring for our baby girl and a community of supporters (family, friends, football family, school family, etc.).
We were released from the hospital when doctors placed her port and saw the mass had nearly shrunken to nothing. Remission came after the induction period of 29 days, but her journey is not over. For the next two and a half years, Molly will undergo treatments to keep the cancer away. Long clinic days, increased possibility of infections, and possible hospital stays are in our future but SO IS MOLLY! We are thankful for the amazing support of our community and will continue to fight all for the greater glory of GOD (AMDG)!
We will be ordering commemorative shirts for all preregistered runners, walkers and virtual participants. If you register by April 15th you will guarantee your shirt size. Those registering after 4/25/21 will be on a first come first serve basis. Register early to save and get the shirt size you want.
