Description

Hurricane Laura hit Louisiana coast early morning on August 27, 2020 as a Category 4 hurricane. This was the strongest hurricane to hit the area since the 1850s. The storm devastated Southwest Louisiana, leaving catastrophic damage. The people of SWLA will be without water or power for weeks and many people have lost everything that they owned.

Run or walk 5K (3.1 miles) virtually, to help raise money for the relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Laura. 100% of proceeds will be going to Communifty Foundation of SWLA. Community Foundation of SWLA is a local non-profit based out of Lake Charles, Louisiana who is assisting with hurricane cleanup, and supplying the area with necessary items to recover. The people all over SWLA are in desperate need of water, food, sunscreen, cleaning supplies, tarps, gloves, generators, etc. The funds raised from the SWLA Hurricane Laura Relief Virtual 5K will go toward helping get these items.
