Geocent is excited to announce the company’s very first Virtual 5k Run/Walk! This event will be totally virtual, and every employee can do their run/walk at the location of their choice. Employees and their friends and family members will have the option of completing a full 5k or a 1-mile walk if preferred.
Follow us on Facebook to check-in and motivate one another! We’ve attached a training guide that will help you reach the 5k goal within six weeks!
Registration for each individual will be $15. Each person registered by September 16th will receive a T-shirt, and all finishers will receive a participation medal. T-shirt availability is only guaranteed for those participants who register before the deadline. Other award categories will be announced on our Geocent Virtual 5k Run/Walk Facebook page.
To qualify, you must download a tracking app that records your final run/walk. Any of these apps can also be used to track your training. Popular running apps include:
RunKeeper – www.runkeeper.com
Fitbit – www.fitbit.com
MapMyRun - www.mapmyrun.com
Strava – www.strava.com
Since we are all in different locations and predicting the weather can be challenging, we are allowing participants to complete their final run/walk any day between October 17-23, 2020. Please screenshot your run/walk and make sure the app includes the following information: distance, date, and time. Once you have completed the virtual challenge, please send this info to wellness@geocent.com.
