FAQs
What if I would like to run at home?
You can participate in the Run-a-thon in person or at home. We hope that you'll join us at Lawton on Friday, September 27th, but if you feel more comfortable running on your own 1-mile course (with a supervising adult!) of your choosing please do. Adults are welcome to join their children — we encourage all adults running to make a donation to our fundraiser online. This is a community event. In addition to Lawton students and their immediate families: grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors are all encouraged to run/walk our 1-mile course. Since the Run-a-thon can happen ANYWHERE in the world, we hope that you'll encourage everyone to run or walk 1-mile on September 27th.
Who can participate?
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate!
How do I sign up myself and/or my child(ren)?
Please register through this website. We ask that you register in advance, but we will also take event day registrations. Please come to the registration table at the event if you haven't registered and would like to participate. Parents and other family friends are welcome to run with their children! We encourage anyone running to make a donation.
What if I forgot to sign up and still want to run?
You can still participate! Online sign-ups and wave times are in place in order to limit crowds and promote a safe and comfortable event, but if you missed your run time or forgot to sign up, you can still run. Come to the registration table at the Run-a-thon and a volunteer will help you!
Will there be food available for purchase?
Yes! We will have a Hearth, Fire and Wood Pizza food truck, and Kona ice truck.
Will there be activities at the event?
There will be a DJ making announcements about the event, but also playing great music for everyone to dance along to!
