Age Group Eligibility
Athletes will compete in the age group that matches their age on December 31, 2026.

This means your racing age for the entire 2026 season is based on how old you will be at the end of the year, not on your age on race day. Athletes "age up" on January 1 and remain in that age group for all USA Triathlon-sanctioned events throughout the year.

Example: If you turn 35 at any point during 2026, you will compete in the 30–39 age group for the entire 2026 season, even if you are still 34 on race day.

LoCo Sprint Tri Race Overview Conversation
First time competing in a tri? First time competing in this tri? Plan to join our conversation for some tips on tri competition in general, and specifics to this event.

Thursday, July 23 during packet pick up. Conversation starts at 5:45 PM.

Teams
All team mates will receive a bib with the team’s number. It’s the teams choice who does what for the team (swim, bike or run).

Teams will have one space for their team transition area. Space will be identifiable by the teams bib number.

Teams will pass the timing device as their “baton.” Teams are welcome to finish together by meeting their runner at mile three for the finish line run.

Click here for more info on teams.

Body Marking
Body marking will take place in the transition area on race day from 6:15 AM to 7:15 AM.

It is each athlete’s responsibility to ensure that volunteers correctly mark their race age, which is based on the athlete’s age as of December 31, 2026. This age determines the division in which the athlete will compete.

To help ensure body markings remain visible throughout the event, please do not apply sunscreen, oil, Vaseline, lotion, or similar products until after you have been body marked.

Transition Area
The transition area will open at 6 AM on race day. The transition area is for athletes only. Athletes may enter the area with their bib number.

We ask that family and friends remain outside of the transition area, outside of mesh fencing, at all times. If you would like to be inside the transition area during the race, please consider volunteering.

Finish Line
Every finisher will receive a commemorative finisher medal as a symbol of the dedication, determination, and hard work it took to reach the finish line.

Timing chips will be collected at the finish line.

Race Results & Awards
Results will be available and accessible via QR codes posted at the finish line. Awards will be offered to the top overall male and female plus top three age group male and female winners.

Top two teams of two and three for male, female, and co-ed.
