I Run For You is inspired by Carmela—a young girl with an enormous heart who always thought of others. That same spirit inspired Ricardo Gil to run for someone else, turning his miles into a gesture of encouragement and hope.
Now we invite our entire Love in Action community to carry that idea forward.
It's an invitation to dedicate your Love in Action race to someone who needs hope, strength, encouragement, or simply a reminder to keep moving forward in life.
Maybe they are facing an illness.
Maybe they are recovering from a difficult season.
Maybe they have experienced loss, disappointment, depression, injury, or a challenge that has made the road ahead feel harder.
Or maybe there is simply someone in your life who needs to hear:
“I believe in you.”
HOW IT WORKS
1. CHOOSE SOMEONE
Think of someone who could use a little extra hope, strength, or encouragement.
2. RUN FOR THEM
Dedicate your 1K, 5K, or 10K to that person. Carry their name, their story, and their journey with you every step of the way.
3. GIVE THEM HOPE
During registration, you can add a special Medal of Hope at checkout with a $10 donation.
After the race, give the medal to the person you ran for and tell them:
“This one is for you.”
Let it remind them that someone believes in them, that they can keep moving forward, and that there are still finish lines ahead.
4. PASS IT ON
The story doesn’t have to end there.
When they are ready, encourage them to pass the hope forward.
Run or walk for someone. Encourage someone. Help someone. Be there for someone.
One act of hope can inspire another. Pass it on.
